Do funding years affect chances?

Post by GuestApplicant »

Hi, I'm a new applicant for the SMART program.

I want to know if the number of years you are seeking funding affects your chances at the scholarship? i.e., if you are only seeking two years, you would be favored over another applicant seeking three or four?

I think that if you are comparing folks with equivalent degrees in equivalent fields from equally prestigious institutions than yes, with similar backgrounds, an on-board date that is sooner will be more attractive.

Those are a large number of equivalents... Probably what you really need to know is that the Sponsoring Facility that will (potentially) pick you up is not paying your scholarship.
