Current DoD Civilian

by smartscotty » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:32 pm

I am a current DoD civilian of six years. I graduated was a computer engineering major and computer science and mathematics minor. Currently I have a TS clearance. I am strongly considering grad school for Fall 2014, studying for the GRE, and identifying my options.

Currently, I am unsure what postgraduate field I want to pursue. Systems Engineering, Aeronautical, Biomedical, and Computer Engineering all interest me. I will likely stick with Systems Engineering as that is my current position and I really enjoy it.

Space systems interest me, so obviously NASA is a desired employer. I know NPS offers their current full salary for current federal civilians while they attend school, however my command will not authorize me to attend as a resident graduate program.

I am looking for advice if there are any scholarship or fellowships programs out there that I should look into. I'd even consider applying to another federal organization that would sponsor me to go to NPS as a resident down the road.

Below are the programs that I am aware of:

NPS Civilian Information
SMART Scholarship
CyberCorps
Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP)
National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate Fellowship
