Any Tax Tips?

Hey everyone, I kinda have anxiety about filing my taxes. I know this isn't a tax forum but any advice would be appreciated.

2020 was my first year ever having any significant income. I've never really filed taxes before that weren't super simple, or I always knew I'd be below the std deduction limit. But this year I worked a good paying internship and have the stipend money and local grants for other school stuff. I'm an independent in 2020, wasn't in 2019 so I haven't received any stimulus.

So, any tax tips or advice for a newbie filer? It feels like the first time I have some mula, and I don't wanna make a mistake and have to pay more than I need too.

Best tip I can give is that SMART fellowship income is NOT self-employment income, so you should not pay self-employment taxes on that income. It might be tricky to get your tax software to handle it properly if you are filing your taxes on your own since this 1099-MISC can be challenging to deal with.
